Phase 1: Election configuration & preparation

This consists in the preparation of voters and candidates lists. First, voters are registered and each one of them receive a specifically created unique electronic identity (eID). The latter can take various forms : it may be be as secured as a smartcard with a chip or be as simple as a login/password mechanism. Secret keys protecting the election are generated and distributed by the customer to a number of administrators. This safegaurds confidentiality, reliability and blocks fraud attempts.

Phase 2:  Election

Voters start with their authentication on the Elegio application (online or local use). Elegio verifies the identity, a number of identity attributes in order to present dynamically the right content for each voter. Vote bulletins are processed by a number of crytographic algorithms in order to guarantee anonimity, encryptions and ballots shuffling. Each voter receives his/her vote confirmation; he/she has the possibility to verify the presence of his/her vote bulletin(s) in the ballot boxe(s).

Phase 3: counting and results reports production

At the end of the election's phase, all ballot boxes are closed and electronically sealed. Elegio's sealing technology allows for a full transparency property of ballot boxes (and keys!), providing a proof and guarantee of integrity. Transparency is such that the ballot box content can be displayed publicly for control and audits.
The customer re-unites a predefined minimum number of keys from each administrator in order to trigger and launch the automated counting process, which ultimately produces results reporting.

On customer's request, we can take in charge election operations in a very broad scope before, during and after the election, such as for example : opportunity analysis for an e-vote approach; process definition, procedures definition for the customer's context; internal customer training, evote communciation assistance; on site assistance; computers rental; etc.
